Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications

General Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Vice President, Marketing, the Sr. Manager, Marketing Communications will lead brand strategy, content marketing and communications efforts for Gauss with a focus on digital channels. S/he will lead the development of a brand identity that captures the company’s vision and values, create compelling messaging and content to engage audiences and communicate value, and efficiently and effectively drive multi-channel campaigns to raise brand awareness and generate qualified leads. S/he will work closely with key stakeholders both inside and outside of the company to source content, execute projects and measure results.

Specific Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will:

  • Drive overall corporate brand strategy and partner with Gauss Head of Design to provide creative direction and leadership for in-house and agency creative teams
  • Maintain brand guidelines, templates and core marketing assets (e.g., photography, b-roll, logos, etc.) to ensure a consistency of brand identity, messaging, visual design and experience across all channels
  • Lead communications campaigns for the company, focusing on driving marketing qualified leads and, secondarily, increasing overall brand awareness for Gauss and its products among key audiences
  • Set content themes/narratives on a quarterly basis, with monthly check-ins, and align marketing communications initiatives to those themes
  • Create and manage an editorial calendar and lead content marketing efforts to generate shareable, interactive or other “sticky” content (white papers, infographics, video, webinars, etc.) around which Gauss will center campaigns and other content marketing efforts
  • Leverage content marketing to drive marketing qualified leads for our sales team
  • Provide consultation and guidance regarding the Gauss brand and build employee brand ambassadors throughout the company
  • Develop and manage methods to measure and optimize performance of campaigns and adjust mix of marketing channels
  • Recommend use of internal vs. external resources to execute marketing communications projects and campaigns; recruit/source a bench of external vendors and contractors to cost effectively scale communications efforts
  • Focus on development of cost-effective digital channels to support communications goals, including corporate website, search, email, social media and digital advertising
  • Manage print vendor relationship and budget, ensuring that print assets meet Gauss’ brand guidelines and maximize our return on investment

The successful candidate will:

  • 5+ years multichannel marketing experience; with preference for experience in FDA-regulated healthcare categories with healthcare professionals as a primary audience (at agencies and/or within companies)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of the organization; passion and skill for written communications a big plus
  • Experience with brand management, including guideline development, company brand portals, digital asset management
  • A proven track record developing and executing multi-channel (with emphasis on digital) content marketing programs to increase brand awareness and generate qualified leads
  • Experience with marketing promotional activity development (sales aids, video marketing, search marketing, email campaigns, webinars, etc.)
  • Ability to recruit, select and manage vendors, agencies and contractors to cost effectively scale communications efforts
